HEALTH PRECAUTIONS IN RESPONSE TO CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)

***Update March 16, 2020***

Hello friends of NAAAHR-Milwaukee,

With the public health emergency related to coronavirus (COVID-19) and our concern for the safety of our entire NAAAHR-Milwaukee family, we are rescheduling our upcoming meeting, scheduled for this Thursday, March 19.

Based on the most recent guidelines from the CDC, along with NAAAHR-Milwaukee’s commitment to prioritize the safety and health of everyone involved, we feel this is the appropriate step to take at this time. Despite our typically intimate meeting environment, our leadership team feels this is simple step we can take to do our part in minimizing the spread of this virus.

If you currently have tickets for this event, we will contact you via email as soon as a new date has been confirmed.  If you are unable to attend the rescheduled event, we will allow you to transfer your registration to a future NAAAHR-Milwaukee professional development event in 2020.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate this rapidly evolving health crisis. We will get through this together and look forward to welcoming you to join us for an upcoming event soon.

Stay healthy,

___________________________________________________________________________

Hello friends of NAAAHR-Milwaukee,

In these uncertain times, I wanted to reach out to you personally as the situation around coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to evolve. Our leadership team has been closely monitoring the situation, along with following the guidance issued by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

Your health and safety come first

The health and safety of our members, visitors, sponsors and partners is the top priority. We want you to feel confident when attending any NAAAHR-Milwaukee Chapter meeting, gathering or function. As a result, we remain in close communication with the Milwaukee Center for Independence (MCFI), who typically hosts our events. MCFI has confirmed security and housekeeping services for their facilities have been increased due to these developments. Our meeting space has been equipped with a hand sanitizing station for visitor use and is clearly identified. As a result of these changes, we ask for your patience with the new security check-in procedures on site.

For all future events, our NAAAHR-Milwaukee leadership has committed to meeting with owners/management of any facilities to confirm they meet our standards in regards to this concern.

Actions YOU can take to keep yourself - and others - safe

The human-to-human transfer and symptoms of coronavirus are very similar to the seasonal flu. Everyone should take everyday precautions, including:

  • Washing hands frequently

  • Covering mouths and noses when coughing or sneezing with a flexed elbow or tissue

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth

  • Refrain from shaking hands and hugging

In an effort to keep everyone healthy, if you are ill, please stay home.

We ask that if you have a cold, fever, any other symptoms or have been exposed to the virus please stay home. We care about you and everyone associated with our organization and want to do our part to minimize the continued spread of this virus. If you have registered for an upcoming event and cannot attend due to illness or potential risk, we will work with you to transfer your registration fee for use at a future event. If you find yourself in this situation, please do not hesitate to contact our team at info@naaahrmilwaukee.org for assistance.

This is a fast-moving situation which poses more questions than answers. I greatly appreciate your continued partnership with NAAAHR-Milwaukee. Please stay tuned to our website and social media channels (Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram) for further updates, or contact us at info@naaahrmilwaukee.org.

Regards,
